For my dad...

I'm not really so sure who all still reads my blog...does anyone read anyone's blog anymore? But I KNOW my dad reads this blog...so this post is just for you dad, Happy Fathers Day!!!

Dad, here are a few of my most favorite things about you...

- Some people snort when they laugh really hard, some people wet their pants...my dad, he wheezes! And I love it! You can't help but laugh right along when you hear that good ol' chesty wheeze (I think this trait was passed on to Cooper)

- One of my favorite memories of my dad was him taking me on a date to Verizano's (sp??) Pizza on Westcliff...he taught all of us kids what good food really is...black licorice, wasabi flavored stuff, dill pickles, horse radish, green olives, salt and vinegar chips, all with a side of coke

- When I think of sacrifice and hard work I think of my dad! He sacrificed years and years for our family and because of his and my mom's examples of this I think all of their kids ended up hard workers

- My dad loves to read...because of that I passed 11th grade. I remember him reading (more than once) long boring 11th grade required reading material to me...out loud...usually the night before something was due

 - On more than one occasion I can remember my dad either cleaning or admiring one of his many firearms when I would be picked up for a date
- My dad has always been my biggest fan. Anytime I think about quitting something he encourages me. I think most of the Oregon dental community has seen my photography and pictures of my kids!
Here's some updated pictures for ya dad! We love you tons!

Baby Warren

This sweet little man was born a few weeks after Naomi and I happen to just love his mom... so it was a great little shoot to catch up and love on another precious baby. Isn't this just the sweetest little face and head of blonde hair!?

Ramblings

This little gem I took back in March and just haven't got around to posting.
I love everything about this picture!
This is just Bennett...I love that his tongue is sticking out, and his flip flops are in the background, i love his cute little wheaties shirt he got from aunt Taylor and uncle Preston, i love his hopscotch form :), and i love that head of hair...
Bennett's hair is always such a topic of conversation and this picture just captures it at it's fullest!!
I love when people ask me if we've ever cut his hair and i laugh and tell them just every few weeks since he was 6 months old.

Tonight Bennett told me I was being stupid. I have no idea where he even learned that word! He doesn't know any words like that. Usually when he's mad at us he tells us we're going to jail...
and it just about takes everything I have to not die laughing while he throws a fit and tells me I'm going to jail.

So today at church this cute beautiful girl I was sitting by told me she had read my blog and the post I wrote about ombre hair being horrendous...and of course she has ombre hair, and like I said she's beautiful!
Well I felt really terrible I had indirectly called her hair horrendous!
The truth is I am just fashionably handicap and it takes me so long to warm up to any new style that by the time I think anything is kind of remotely cute it is already going out of style again...
And this whole experience reminded me of the time I was sitting in Math class in 9th or 10th grade, I can't remember which, and I told this new kid who was sitting next to me in class how awful it was that he too had to endure Mr. Walker's class. He then told me it was ok because Mr. Walker was his dad.
(sigh)
I should start dipping my foot in chocolate before I eat it, it would sure make the whole experience a lot better.

We are moving this week and I am SO excited.
Kenny and I almost bought a house 4 years ago, and because of a whole lot of blessings and divine intervention we didn't and we moved to Utah instead (which I am grateful for for countless reasons)....
But ever since then I have dreamed and pictured and decorated a thousand times in my head this house we would someday own.
I just wish I wouldn't have dreamed and pictured and decorated a house that was furnished by ethan allen and pottery barn...
good thing for pinterest and all the DIY look a-likes I find!

I've had a marathon 8 weeks worth of photo shoots and can't wait to post some pictures...so hopefully over the next few weeks I will get something new posted!

Can't help but hear this song in my head when I look at this picture.

Me

...this is starting out as a very self centered post isn't it...
I realized the other day that "I'll never forget this" is sooo distant from reality isn't it?
(I am a slow learner).
Sometimes I just sit there staring at these precious little faces (Kenny's included, I love his face) and think, how can I forget this...and then life happens, time goes on, they grow, and I forget. I forget things like Bennett saying 'hold you me'. I forget what this chunky little girls legs looked like without all those creases and rolls. I forget how Kenny used to "drive by braille"...(it's tricky, you should ask him how sometime).
I also forget me.
I know that sounds weird but I am not the same person that married Kenny Lee 6 something years ago. And I'm definitely not the same person who went to West Linn high school.
Yes, those were me too, but such a different me.
Sometimes I forget that I change just as much as these little babies of mine do.
And although at moments I don't want to remember those other me's, I actually do.

So...since this is the most current form of my journaling these days...this is me:

(Please feel free to stop reading here and skip down to the pretty pictures)

I love being a mom and wife. Some days are hard, tiring, and feel very unrewarding, but I wouldn't choose to do anything else.

I hate messes and all things dirty. There are few things that can put me in a worse mood than overflowing hampers, dust coated furniture, unvacuumed floors, water spots, and dirty toilets. And I especially dislike unorganized drawers, cupboards, and closets. My name is Megan and I may have OCD.

I have flash backs of jr. high when I see people write retarded things like 'omg'

I think the magic eraser is one of the greatest inventions of this century.

I feel probably an unrighteous amount of pride when people compliment us on our children.

I hate naughty words...you know the ones

I really like food. I like to cook food, talk about food, smell food, and look at food. I am kind of a food snob and a garbage disposal all at the same time...if that's even possible. Leftovers however are so not my favorite.

I so wish I could go on biggest loser just so I can see if I can handle one of their workouts.

I hate tight clothing 98% of the time.

If I had unlimited resources and time I would get a nutrition degree and go to culinary school and write cook books.

I love popcorn, especially with butter and Parmesan cheese...and of late, marshmallow popcorn, mmmmm...

I think 'ombre' hair and high waist-ed pants are horrendous (I'm so sorry if you have ombre hair or wear those ugly pants...but i promise you will look back in 10 years and also wonder what you were thinking)

I really want a cello and secretly wish I was a concert pianist.

I wish I ate as healthy as my mom.

I think Kenny is the world's most perfect husband, but that is a whole 'nother post in itself.

Even though I wear both, I really dislike wearing lip gloss and big earrings.

I really wish my whole family could live in the same place! (hint hint mom, dad, aubree, and taylor)

My favorite shoes are black old navy flip flops that have been nice and worn in. If its not Sunday you will most likely find me wearing them come rain or shine.

I love classy-ness and tact and think society is majorly lacking in both.

One of my pet peeves is when people confuse needs and wants.

Speaking of needs...I really need to go to Greece and France.

If I ever can't sleep it is usually because I am decorating our future house in my head, it's really pathetic but true.

AND

Harrison Ford is like cheese, he only gets better with age.

Now, on to the good stuff...my precious little Naomi girl and Bennett!
(thank goodness for my endlessly talented mother-in-law who will drop anything to take our pictures for us)!

Naomi's Blessing

One of the first things that I thought about when I found out I was having a girl was her blessing.
I love hearing fathers blessings and all the amazing promises these tiny babies are given. I love to hear the humility and love in father's voices as they give these blessings.

Long before this little peanut was born I looked and looked online for the perfect dress. I found someone in Utah who made blessing dresses and as soon as I saw her style I knew it was the one! Maybe that's a little too emotionally attached to a blessing dress but it turned out just perfect! I did a little trade with her and she whipped up this little beauty with all the most beautiful details.

Kels bought her darling bracelet, I had my talented friend Carlee make the adorable bow, and Heidi bought her the perfect blanket to match it all! (dang, I didn't get pictures with the blanket!) Carly (who made the dress) also made the cutest little hat that was just like the cherry on top, but I was worried about it falling off all day so I had a bow as back up.

He so loves his little sister!

I had to include this picture because his hair just cracks me up!
Besides Aaron who unfortunately woke up sick that morning, my whole family was able to be there. I am so grateful for everyone who could come! We both feel so lucky to have such amazing and supportive parents and siblings and so much extended family.
I'm grateful for Kenny's grandparents too who never miss a thing! With all my grandparents gone I feel so lucky to have them.

I always tell Kenny he was blessed with the ability to speak so well and clearly. Too bad he didn't want to do litigation because I'm sure he'd be great at it. He gave Naomi a beautiful blessing with amazing promises and all of my most favorite men were able to stand in the circle.

Such a great day!
(Tay's missing in this picture because her plane had left earlier)
This picture cracks me up...this poor little girl in the midst of her 5 crazy boy cousins! (isn't my mom a hotty)
And last but not least...I love this picture! Preston is always so sweet with all the babies, what a good uncle!

4 - how did this happen

My computer has been broken! I don't know if a broken computer or a broken leg is more debilitating!

Anyway, my little Bennett boy turned 4 this month.
He is no longer a baby...he really isn't even a toddler anymore!
I just bought him shoes and they look just big!
He is just a funny little boy with an ever growing personality.

Bennett at 4:

- likes to sleep with his shirt off because he's 'hot'...however if it is less than 80 degrees outside you can gaurentee he will be cold ask for a jacket

- loves to do dot to dots, puzzles, word searches, mazes, and anything you can trace

- hates the wind and anything loud

- needs a confirmation that you have heard everything he says!

- LOVES rootbeer...i would go as far as to say he is addicted

- refers to any event in the past as "last time"

- wants to go on his mission to Radiator Springs

- if he likes you or feels embarressed, you can almost always gaurentee you will get "rawrrrred" at

- if you ask him if he wants cheese you are certain to get the same response everytime..."umm no thank you, I not like cheese"

- pronounces the words "girl", "squirrel", and "school"  all about the same

- constantly asks "that's an i-good-dea"?

- loves preschool, especially dancing time

- is the worst kid ever at going to bed! (who has to make their 4 year old cry it out??? honestly!)

- loves popcorn and lucky charms

- loves being in primary and has a little fan club that asks for high fives and hugs every week

-loves his little sister and talks to her in this hilarious high pitched whine and often calls her 'sweetie'
