sleepless

i know...i wasn't going to post again for a while
but i can't sleep
having a lot of anxiety right now over a few things
i HATE when i can't sleep

so this is random,
and i'm not really sure people read my blog much, but this will be a great entertainment post for later...
i usually laugh at anything posted after midnight after rereading them

but i was at the forum shops the other day (buying the most amazing lens that my most loving and wonderful husband gave me all our credit card points to get!)

if you don't know, the forum shops is like the nicest place in Las Vegas to shop with all these ritzy stores with fancy Italian names that i can't pronounce

anyway...i was walking around and everyone was dressed so nice
and i was wearing workout pants, t-shirt, and had my hair in a french braid...
so this is my question
are french braids gay??
i mean i wore them in 2nd grade, they are very early 90's
but i just think it's the greatest dirty hair-do ever (which that was maybe going on day three of dirty hair that night)
and now you know if you see me wearing one...my hair is most likely dirty...or kinky because i didn't straighten it all the way and that just hides it the best

my favorite french braid i've ever seen is Julia Stiles in the last seen in 10 Things I Hate About You...now that is a great french braid
if my french braid looked like that i'd wear one everyday

well, i actually don't care if people at the forum shops were looking at me thinking 'that dirty hair girl from the 90's looks silly with her french braid', because i will still wear my french braid...i just wanted to know what my friends who read my blog think?

and you better believe the night of the dirty french braid i couldn't sleep then either...
so i was taking random pictures...one was of my french braid :)

and just because i think this is the cutest thing i've EVER seen...

just random

i'm so glad kenny's iphone takes such great pictures...

hershey's kiss anyone???
i really love these two...they are just best buds,
can't you tell from this picture?
sometimes i feel just a half an ounce jealous of kenny, and wish bennett loved me as much as him :)...
but to tell you the truth i probably will never golf with him in the back yard for hours on end like kenny does...so in the end kenny will always win

funny little story about this picture...
that night we picked bree and llayton up from the airport and went to dinner. llayton was calling kenny daddy...and so was bennett...and then bree and i were both there...
pretty sure if we had a bun in our hair, the wave bang, and long dresses we would for sure have been mistaken for polygamists!

a couple sunday's ago we couldn't find bennett, when we finally did this is where he was
well the summer is going by so fast. there has just been lots of playing going on around here. i have lots of pictures but truthfully just haven't wanted to take the time to blog. i'll leave that for the snowy cold days and enjoy the beautiful sunshine and swimming weather while we have it.

Kenny finished his intern and will have the rest of the summer off to just play!! (his 2nd one didn't really work out, but we figure he gets to work forever after this next year, so he might as well take the break while he can, and since bennett and i just
love having him home everyday we think it worked out great!)

We just got 2 new nephews this week...my sister lindsey had a baby boy named cruz, and kenny's brother and wife had a baby boy named caiden... so that has been so fun to be here to just love them. It is amazing that bennett was ever so tiny. He seems so old compared to his new precious cousins.
I was looking at one of Cruz's teeny tiny diapers today remembering how they used to drowned bennett.

Well...who knows if there will be more posts in the next while. We are in vegas for a couple more weeks then heading back to utah for a bit for girls camp and some photo shoots. Then back to vegas and a california trip and bam, the summers already over and school will be starting.

i just had to add these last few pictures...because they just make me smile...

we cut A LOT of this pretty hair off when we got down here this summer...this picture made me sad when i found it because although i love his shorter hair (which is still so long to most people), this was SO CUTE! i just love that little face hidden behind all those locks!
this right here is one of the greatest things about las vegas...
where else does it stay 90* all night long
why is this so great some of you are wondering?
well so you can run in the sprinklers at night time, and swim, and, mine and kenny's favorite...when you come out of a freezing movie theater or restaurant and it is so warm outside even at like midnight!

1766

This post is just for you dad...

I just finished my 5th book and 1766 pages, all in the month of May.
Maybe for some of you, you do this every month, but I certainly do not
Growing up I would have rather had dental work done than have to read ANYTHING
The only other time I've read this much was on bed rest when I read all 4 of the Twilight series and a couple others in my 2 months of laying around waiting for my little egg to hatch.
But...I just have yet to master the skill of pacing myself through a book and can't stop reading until I'm done, Kenny says Bennett needs his mom back so I will have to give my brain (and eyes) a little break...after I read Catching Fire though :) (book #2 to Hunger Games)

So if you need a good read this summer here are some recommendations:
Glass Castle - really good, sure makes you grateful for all you have and makes you realize what 'needs' really are
Hunger Games - i loved this book, can't wait to get my hands on the second!
The Book Thief - didn't love the ending, i like happier endings, but i really like this one too, and thought the perspective of the narrator was really interresting
Escape - this is the story of the girl that escapes polygamy, this book was disturbing! but i still liked reading it
Distant Prayer - read this a couple years ago and it was just as good the second time

...and for the sake of not having a picture-less post...
this is my best friends adorable little munchkin Emma, precious
and don't you just love this little profile, Kenny's cute cousin had my do a birth story for their new little Jacob
