date night

for lack of a better post right now...

this was date night
and me practicing lighting in a parking garage
(i need a model, anyone want to model for me?)
but i need a more ghetto parking garage bc all the ones we could find close were too bright for my needs

i love date night
i love him even more
i love my generous in-laws for babysitting for us (hope we're not taking advantage!)

the face on the left is what i've looked like all this week...
while bennett threw tantrums over EVERYTHING
ok not everything...but things like putting a diaper on
...and i really don't ever make this face...
so kenny has a tongue shaped like a brick
and mine is shaped like my toes...long a skinny
(just in case you wanted to know more about this part of our anatomy)

the other night while my sister and i were getting ice cream i was showing her this, how i could touch my tongue to my nose,
to my dismay some guy was watching me
and i was really embarrassed.
to make it worse he brought a friend over later for me to show him my trick like i was a freak show....
kenny an i really should be models
don't you think?
....you don't?...

ok me either

but i do think we are dang good kissers
(sorry if that is TMI for you)
and this last one is simply for your viewing pleasure
......(hope to have a real post soon, thanks for humoring me and joining us for date night).....

I love this family...
about as much as I love my own (they kind of are my own)...
and aren't these boys just the cutest...
and isn't my sister the prettiest...
and aaron, you could totally be in one of the fireman calendars...

Kenny and I went to Palm Springs last week...while we were gone Heidi e-mailed us this picture she had taken of Bennett. Hahaha, what a crack up.

#4

For those of you that knew about it...surgery went good yesterday. This was Bennett's 4th, this time was an umbilical hernia. Right before surgery Dr. Fiore (our surgeon who we just really love) asked if we had any last questions. We said no and he told us we were getting pretty good at this. Then said this wasn't really something to be good at. We completely agreed and I told him to stop finding things wrong with my baby. He assured me it wasn't his fault...
We had to be to the hospital at 6:15 yesterday morning. We're not sure why, maybe he sensed something was going on, but the night before Bennett wouldn't go to sleep until midnight. He was pretty delirious the next morning. This was us waiting in pre-op. We have had the same pre-op nurse for every single surgery. I remember her really well because Bennett's first surgery, when he was 4 days old, I wasn't handling everything very well, and she was so comforting and kind to us. Thanks heavens for nurses like her.
Coming out of anesthesia is always the hardest. Yesterday was no different. I hate seeing him so uncomfortable and in pain. Luckily it didn't last long and we were able to go home. We spent the day watching lots of movies. He was pretty sore the first half of the day and kept asking me to kiss his tummy ("tummy hurt, kiss it mommy").
I hate these surgeries and when Bennett's sick, but I sure do love how cuddly he gets.
This picture cracks me up. Bennett has the funniest little wave when we tell him to say hi to people. This is him saying hi to the camera.
He was up walking around and wanting to go outside last night and this morning. He isn't suppose to climb on anything for 2 weeks which is going to be a joke! But he has no pain killers in him this morning as of yet and is doing great. What a little trooper. I'm always amazed at how resilient he is.
